While competition fighting is not required for the Martial Arts Academy students, it is a large part of modern Taekwondo. Students must practice their sparring techniques in class, and if they wish to they will be encouraged to enter tournaments. There are a number of annual tournaments held in the South Carolina and Georgia areas. We send some of our most gifted students to tournaments abroad as far away as Spain and Germany.
Martial Arts Academy is home to many world renowned competitors and numerous elite athletes from around the world. We create an atmosphere which is conducive to growth as an athlete and an overall Taekwondoist. As a result of our continuous efforts, many athletes that relocate to the Aiken area have chosen our dojang as their preferred place of training.
