AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Program Benefits Include:
FORMS
We realize the importance of forms, or poomse, in training to be a whole athlete. Instead of focusing on one aspect of Taekwondo, we try to give our students a well-rounded education. Our forms classes help us accomplish this goal by providing a substantial amount of time where students can practice their forms with the full attention and help of instructors and senior class members.
BLACK BELT
We would like to believe that our instructors are among the best in the world. All of them are certified by the World Taekwondo Federation. They have been taught either by us or by their former schools, which are the most effective methods of teaching both children and adults. Taekwondo's tenets of discipline and respect act as natural guidelines for our instructors. This allows a higher level of understanding and patience between student and teacher. Our focus is to make sure that every student gets taught the proper information in a way that he/she can fully understand. We know that in order to attain this goal, we must have extremely well-educated instructors and senior students.
SELF-DEFENSE
Our self-defense program allows men, women and children to become more prepared in the event they are put in a situation where they are being attacked. This class teaches them defense skills and maneuvers to use in the event of an attack.
CARDIO KICKBOXING
Cardio kickboxing is an excellent exercise designed to sharpen reflexes and improve coordination and balance. Specifically-chosen music is used to lift energy levels and provide an atmosphere of fun and enjoyment, all while burning 500 to 800 calories an hour.
SPARRING
Sparring is an integral part of Taekwondo, and we try to cultivate students' sparring abilities in this class. Classes are usually split into two main parts. The first half is dedicated to guided drills where students are taught important techniques for sparring, such as proper techniques for blocking, evasive maneuvers, effective attacks and defense sequences. The latter half of each class is a more or less freestyle sparring session where students are paired up with several partners and given time to free-spar under the supervision and guidance of the class instructors. Students are encouraged to use the techniques taught at the beginning of the class and to improve to their advantage. By sparring multiple partners during the course of the class, students get a feel for what competition fighting might be like. It imitates the situations where you are up against opponents you have never fought before.
